Winter Blahs!!!!

It is official!  I am so over Winter and her harsh, cold, wet, and dark windy days.

I long for the hot days of Summer.  I love the feel of sun on my face.  

I am looking forward to a creative retreat in a week with some of my girls at a B&B.

Pajamas, Cocktails, Scrappy Fun, Gossip, Giggles and of course, sleeping when it is time.

But until then...I will share a few photos that I took over this past Christmas Holiday.

 Stephen and Katie were engaged in New York City on December 14, 2012.

He proposed to her to be his wife and of course, she said yes.

 The Wedding will take place in Atlanta on August 10, 2013.

We are busy planning our part as well as getting really excited about Katie becoming a vital part of our family.  She is a sweet girl and we are very happy for both of them.

One day after church in December 2012, when we were celebrating our Christmas, we went and had photos taken on a foot bridge in Bowling Green.  The morning light with overcast was near perfect.

We used the family photo as part of our Happy New Year Card and on the back we announced Stephen's engagement to Kate.  They really turned out well.

 Zachary and Kaleb have since moved back to Georgia and they both seem really happy.

So, it is just Brian, Brianna, and myself left here in Bowling Green.  Feels kind of weird at times.

I guess this means that we have to make more trips to Georgia to visit everyone.

 I am just a firm believer that you can take the boys out of the mountains but you cannot take the mountains out of the boys.  The connections and family back in Georgia constantly called Kaleb and Zachary.  I know they were just in Kentucky for us.  They gave it a go and they just did not find their niche.

 Zachary is still trying to find his way after serving in the US Army and his tour to Iraq.

Adjustment seems to be the "norm" for our soldiers.  It is sad really when you think about it.

 Kaleb enjoys working for the tree service and loves working out doors.

He has a year of college under his belt and decided it was just not for him.

It takes all of us to make the world go round.  He is making his own way just fine.

Brianna is in Spring Volleyball.

I am trying to get used to staying home again.  I am looking forward to warmer days and sun on my face.  Bicycle riding in the evenings.  Weekends at festivals and preparing for the impending marriage of Stephen and Katie.  It is going to prove to be a great year for sure.

Until then...this gloomy day will just have to do.

She is the GIRL!

I have been scrapping this week and I am going scrapping at my favorite place tomorrow, Archiver's ALL DAY! A present to myself before everything is packed away for our move that begins on Monday. I cannot think of a better way to start the 4th of July weekend. This is what moves me to create this layout of my son and his new fiance'. They met two years ago on a plane from Atlanta to Oklahoma. He was on his way for basic training and they met and have been the best of friends ever since. They have been dating and realize that they are meant to be together forever. I am pleased. Zachary talks about Chelsey all the time on the phone. She is the one constant subject in our conversation's. I cannot wait to meet her in a few weeks when they fly in together and spend some time with us at our new house in Bowling Green, Ky. I am thinking a "girls day" out for Chelsey and me in order for me to get to know her better.
Amazing how this summer has "change" written all over it.

Nostalgic and Excited....is that possible?

Well, we have found a home in Bowling Green, KY. We have an address, all utilities, and a new phone number. It is a nice home in a nice neighborhood. We are excited for the change but my mind is racing back to memories here in Georgia and as time dwindles down...my heart aches. I have mounds of ideas for decorating our new home. We plan on purchasing several new furniture pieces and plus I have a LOFT SCRAPROOM (a room with a huge skylight) to design as well. I am stoked about that for sure. My son, Zachary who is heading to Fort Carson will be taking a stay with us before he signs in in Colorado with his Fiancee. Yes, you read right. Zachary is engaged and their impending marriage is scheduled for July 11, 2011. The wedding will be in Oklahoma. If he gets orders to deploy to Afghanistan before their date, the wedding will be moved up to accommodate the vows. Zachary will fly into Nashville on the 19th of July with "girl in tow" and we plan on having a great time. I am thrilled for the both of them and I really like the little lady he has chosen to spend his life with and build a family. Zachary really is a "family" man. Gosh, I will be a mother-in-law. Seems strange to say but I am truly looking forward to adding to our family.

Brianna has been taking photos all day with a point and shoot and the last time I checked she had taken over 200 pictures. She keeps asking me to upload them. I think I will wait it out at least a day or two. She says she is "taking pictures of things to remember about Georgia." She plans on making her own scrapbook of her photos. This will be a great project in Kentucky after we get settled and wrap up the summer before school starts the first week in August.

Well, I have so much to do this week and I sure do plan on scrapping all day tomorrow before the movers come and my "scrappy" is packed up. I just wanted to update my blog and know that I am not going anywhere here online and will keep in touch with all of my YA YA's in Georgia and I hope to meet some new YA YA's in Kentucky.
