Paper Creations...

I have been digging into my Studio Calico July 2012 kit called Elmwood Park.

I created two layouts and then I really thought I should get started on cards for Brianna.  I am in the process of making her care package and cards for her to open daily at camp.

I have included them here.

Making the MOST with my scraps!

Oh this morning is quite lovely here. The temperature is warmer and the sun is shining. I know Spring is on the way because we had 2 little rabbits in our back yard this morning.

Yesterday morning, I started scrapping. Well, altering to be exact(will post that project tomorrow.) But last night, I was talking with my friend who is recovering from surgery and she asked if I would make her a few cards that she could give as "thank you" notes to those who have taken the time to remember her, send flowers, and bring food to her home while she is in therapy to gain her strength. So, I took the scraps that were on my scrappy table and these are what I have come up with for her to send to special people.I simply love all of these papers. Creating these cards was quite fun and I enjoyed using my "table scraps" that would otherwise just sit for awhile longer.

Bountiful Blessings

I have been busy with decorating and cleaning the house for the Autumn Season. So, it triggers me to also create within the seasonal theme. I have created 4 simple (blank inside) cards and just listed them in my Etsy store, My Creative Itch. I have created over 50 cards within the past several days and these seem to be my favorite.
The others are very detailed and sometimes...it is the "simple" that means the most to someone when you give it with love.

Did you really think I was done with all that yummy paper from the May "Fly Away Home" Kit from Art Freckles? No, way! So without further ado, here are some cards I created with scraps!

I have to admit, I totally dig this entire line from Chatterbox, Inc.

My favorite is the embellishment kit. It had chipboard die cuts, cork die cuts, and transparencies. The colors are inviting and go with just about any theme. So, I am thinking you need to go grab up some Chatterbox and create some fun and preserve a memory!

It's GOOD FRIDAY and my house is full of family! Lots of cooking and celebrating Zachary's Tour of Duty being completed from Iraq. So, today I thought I would share my April Kit designs from Art Freckles. The kit is full of fabulous papers and goodies from Pink Paislee. So, check it out as there are only a few kits left!

It's no secret I am not much of a card maker. It is hard for me to transition from layout to cards. But these scraps were pretty easy to place on the cards. I stamped a little and well...using all the goodies from the Graphic45 Large Kit at Art Freckles! It was a lot of fun.

Today I will be decorating our Easter tree and preparing the house for the weekend. I plan on having fun at the cyber crop over at Art Freckles this weekend. Maybe I will see you there.

Nostalgic Scrapping

It's no secret to many of my friends that scrapping the "old" is my all time favorite. I have enough old photos to keep me scrapping for the rest of my life without taking another photo. But we know that is so not realistic as I must record just about everything in our family.

But there are times...when the old photos call my name. Gotta love a scanner, too! Well, I scrapped this weekend in my own little world at home and here are a few of my creations.

Just-a- card...I hate to waste good scraps!

The layout entitled "Shorts & Sandals," is of my grandmother. She will be 90 years old this coming June and I am making a special album to share with everyone at the grand party.

The endearing "THANK YOU!"

My "scrap" bend is full and I am trying to use as much product for "Thank You" cards as I can. I look through my scrappy supply and I am not sure why I am actually holding onto so much that seems to be older product. But I do. I think we as scrappers tend to hold on to our goodies and not use them. But I am "freeing" myself from this and it is quite revealing to me what I have held onto and then I remind myself...I bought it to create and release energy. I am not a great card maker. It is hard for me to go back and forth from large layouts to card making. I envy those that have this talent for sure. Thank you cards are always in need. I think we as a society have forgotten the good feeling we get when we receive one via snail mail. I have been sending many these days out to family and friends that for whatever reason needed me to say, "Thank You." Sometimes, just a thank you for a friendship or smile is a good enough reason to send one. We always send thank you cards for condolences or celebration. That is almost a given. But we need to send the "Thank You" to those that affect our lives on a daily basis. So, my pledge to myself and to reduce the "scrappy bulge" in my scraps drawer is more than freeing it is a must thing to do. So here are some cards I have been "scrapping" together just to give to that special someone.

Terrific Weekend...

I had a great weekend with my scrappy friends Heather and Sue. We met at Archiver's and shopped. Of course, we all spent obscene amounts of money in just a matter of 45 minutes or less. But you know...it was things I just had to have. While at Archiver's I saw a few of my Atlanta Pea gals starting their day of scrapbook fun. It was good to see them. I was jealous of course because heck fire, they were scrapping! In any case, Heather, Sue and myself went to a great cafe called MiMi's and had a wonderful brunch. We talked nearly two hours and it was great to just sit and chat over a wonderful meal and coffee. This was the official "send off" of Heather. She is headed to Jackson, Mississippi and she will be greatly missed.

Sue and I have decided to crop this coming weekend at Archiver's for the Create.Crop.Cure for Breast Cancer. It is a 12 hour crop and all proceeds (100%) go to benefit breast cancer research. I have decided to crop in the memory of my sister-in-law, Karen Archer. She lost her battle with Breast Cancer in November of 2006. I know Karen would have loved to be part of such a wonderful event. Karen was actually scrapbooking her memories when she lost her battle with the cancer that plagued her and her family for 2 years. My brother-in-law said all of her scrappy goodies were still on the dining room table when she passed. So, Karen has scrapbooks unfinished. One day, I will head to Boca Raton, Fl. and sit with Karen's daughter and help her complete the scrapbooks when the time is right. So, this coming Saturday is more than just a grand time of Cropping for a Cure...it will be a time for me to remember a bright light that was dimmed by such a terrible disease.

I love that the color for Breast Cancer is Pink. It is a baby soft pink and a few months ago I made a few cards with pink in them. I no longer have these cards as I have given them away...but here is a creative glance for you to gander at and be inspired.
