Positive!

I love the verse, Luke 6: 37.

We as "social humans" tend to be more judgmental with the all of the technology and minute to minute updates on one another's lives.  I remember when I had a pen pal that it would take a week to get the letters she wrote me.  So, the average in a month was about 4 to five letters.  This was because we were having a conversation back and forth.  We both wrote one another well into our 20's.

My heart sometimes hurts with what I see posted
in mainstream media and social venues in the world of technology and "keeping in touch."
With that said,  it is still hard not to read it.  I just choose not to share my opinion.
 In an open forum.
It is like a "train wreck/car wreck," you just cannot look away.

I must remind myself daily to continue to carry my daily cross and seek God.

Creative Time, Photos, & Documentation

I have been in my studio a bit this week preparing it for my son, Zachary who will be here from Colorado on Saturday.  Carpet is cleaned and the bed linens on the double bed cleaned and of course...the big screen TV set up in the corner for his pleasure while here.  I told him he would have to share "MY" space.  He said, "Cool, I love your studio."  Yeah, we shall see if he enjoys it when I am in it at 7:00 AM.  I may wait until 8:00 AM.  My stereo, desktop, cameras, and all of my creative goodies are in this room.
Sacrifice.
It will be great to have him home again.

Easter 2012
This layout which is a 6" x 12" layout, has one of my new favorite pictures of Kaleb and I.

Movie Date
The above layout photo was taken in our car after going to see Titanic in 3-D on the 100th Anniversary of its sinking.  As you can see, Brian and I were trying to document a date for my journal.  But Brianna was a bit jealous and kept trying to get into the photo.  We just chuckled.  We take her everywhere we go.

This photo I have printed and framed.
I think Brianna feels better now.
Still, I just cannot keep from giggling.

She is truly a "Daddy's Girl!"

May Day!

Can you believe it is May already?
We awoke this morning to a massive electrical storm and pounding rain.

Yesterday I threw together a few layouts.

Luck of the Irish

Drive (6" x 12")

Rock the Braces Chicka (6" x 12")

I had simply forgotten how much fun using my grommet tool can be.
I need to seek out more grommets!
I hope they are still available.

Creative Week

This week I am packing all the goods up for the Scrappin' N Classes
this coming weekend at the Barren River State Lodge & Resort.
But I do plan on getting a few hours in here and there learning more about my
Silhouette Cameo.  Oh my heavens this tool is fabulous!
Here are a few more layouts using bits and pieces that were on my table.
The Game of Champions
My family takes game playing pretty seriously.
The Archer's are not good losers at all.
They are competitive.
So, you can imagine when several of them are at one table
playing a game of strategy and stamina!

She Patiently Waits...

Chynna longs for Brianna to come home every single day.
She sits at all the windows on the front of the house.
She gets all excited when the first bus stops about 30 minutes ahead of her girls' bus.
But...she patiently waits.

This and of Course..."that!"

Last week we went to the Nashville Zoo and I simply fell in love with the color of the Flamingo.
They were just adoringly wonderful and who would not love this color, huh?
I love their color

So, yesterday the doodling bug bit me again.  I really have not drawn or painted anything in quite a while and I am preparing myself for some elementary lessons before I take Flora's painting class.  I am really excited about it.  It is "my" summer camp for sure.  So, last night I grabbed an old journal and started to just play with color and move my Copic Markers around and see what happened.
I enjoyed the flow process of this doodle.
Then I looked back at it later and realized it reminded me of the album cover, GODSPELL.
Remember that one?
This is actually an entire profile.
But I cropped it after photographing as I am not sure I like it or not.
I do however, love the nose.  Inspired by the love of my life.
Not sure what was going on here...but trying out some doodles and adding color as an after thought.
This is of course a work in progress.
Inspired by my dog and her crazy hair...

Just a Doodle...

Scraps on my table often find themselves on cards.
This one is no exception.
Enjoy your Saturday...

Sweetheart Card and Doodling

I created this card using the Art Freckles January Kit. I really love the die cut bird and I just could not resist doodling on it and using Versamark with the "love you" stamp on the envelope.

St. Valentine's Day is just around the corner. What are you creating by hand?
