Creative Overload

I have really been creating a great deal with paper lately.  I have over 20 layouts and projects that I have created over the past 12 days or so.  I will begin sharing the most recent.
Yesterday at Faithful Scrappers,
I whipped out the following layouts with the Studio Calico September Kit, CENTRAL HIGH.

All photos were INSTAGRAM photos that I printed at home.
I really love those fun photos to scrap.

Baby Blue Eyes - 12" x 12"

Back In the Day, MY DAY - 12" x 12"

My Favorite Season- 6" x 12"

YOU & ME- 6" x 12"
Keep checking back.  I have lots to share.

Creative Roll...

Hanging out in my studio again today.
I thought I would post a few layouts that I completed yesterday

Summer of 69 Scrapbook Kit
Baseball Simply Rocks
Both of these layouts came together pretty quickly.

I also had time to throw together a card and and I decorated a Kraft Bag for my son.

It looks to be a dreary day outside and that is perfect weather for playing with paper.
Yep, HUMP DAY and crafting.

Using up the Scraps...

I love using scraps I have on my table to create 6" x 12" Layouts.  I love to mingle them within my scrapbooks because it adds a special dimension to my books when looking through them.  This size is perfect for the not so great shot or so many photos of one event and you want to just scrap because you simply love it.  This size challenges me to use a smaller space more creatively.

I dare not throw anything away that is on my desk.  So, one way to make sure it gets used is to continue to scrap in this fabulous size.  My table gets cleaned really fast and I use up my stash.

Rainy weekend here and tonight we are off to a concert in a cave.
Tell you all about it tomorrow!

Paper Creations...

I created two layouts and then I really thought I should get started on cards for Brianna.  I am in the process of making her care package and cards for her to open daily at camp.

I have included them here.
Trust me that everything is straight.
I was simply impatient with taking the photos yesterday morning.
However, you will get the idea.  Remember you can click on the layout/card to view closer.
**included with the cards are the designs of the envelopes*

Cooler temperatures.

I have enjoyed playing with paper for the past few days.

Sunday Show & Tell...

Today, we are off to the ball park as Chynna (our dog) won us tickets to the Hot Rods "Bark in the Park" day.
She will be going with us and I will be taking pictures.

In the meantime, I am going to SHOW & TELL you about my layouts
I created yesterday during the National Scrapbooking Day.
I wanted to scrap much more but I needed to do other things.  So, here you go.

Hello- Inspired by a sketch of Kelly Purkey

Joining In - inspired by a confetti challenge

Kiss - inspired by a graphic challenge

Still Me - inspired by a triangle challenge

You, Me, Us - inspired by a graphic challenge
I joined in with Studio Calico's Design Team for challenges on their NSD 2012.
All of the layouts above were created with Studio Calico's 35MM May 2012 Kit.

So, this what I created.  Thanks for looking and have a grand Sunday!

Close to You

I was listening to The Carpenter's when I created this layout.
I actually scanned a color photo
(because this was taken well before I started scrapbooking)
and augmented it until I was happy with the process.
The original photo was not in the best of focus.
But I love how it turned out.

Close to You

It's Monday, again.
Have a great week.

CHAllenges, continued!

Here are some of my "takes" on the Studio Calico CHAllenges.

I created another challenge entry for Stephanie's Doilie CHAllenge
You and Me Card
For Tina's rubber stamping CHAllenge, I chose to use actual rubber stamps
and this was the first time I used the main stamp.  I decided to color it with my COPIC Markers.
Inspired by Life Card
For Nik's Journal Spot CHAllenge was not really a challenge for me at all.
I am a huge journaler on my scrap book pages.
I think the story is just as important as the photo.
Modern Family
Finally, for Jen's Layering CHAllenge,
I created this simple CHRISTMAS design.
Peace and Joy
That is all for now.
Have a fabulous Sunday.  It is beautiful here in Bowling Green, KY today.

My Monthly Self-Serving Treat

Each month I get a special box.
This month is no exception.  I have been a subscriber member of Studio Calico way back since 2008.  Before I became a subscriber, I used to just buy monthly.
Then I took the plunge in 2008 and have received this fabulous gift each month.  Kind of like "beer of the month" for men but it is "mixed media" to a a person that loves to create.  That would be "me!"
So, this is my fourth photo of the year for my "Photo A Day."
I plan taking this photo throughout the year.  Each month.  It may seem silly to you.
A Kraft pizza box with script screen printed on the box, however,
it is my reminder to get back to one of my favorite hobbies.
I really think I will hold off on cleaning and organizing the garage the coming weekend and create!

Summer is Sizzling...

Literally!  This has been a super busy summer for our family.  When we are not working we are soaking in activities on the weekends. So, I really have not had much time to create or post here.  Summer is my time of the year and prefer to be out and about-doing and going.  Plus, I have something in the works I plan to share...I think.  I am still trying to figure out when I share how to go about it...it is pretty big news for me.

But with that said, I have been creating with the 3 Scrappy Boys  July Kit.  I will show the first two layouts. I need to photograph the other things I have created with this really fun kit.  So, here ya go...

Well, I guess many are staying home for CHA SUMMER and not heading to Chicago.  But I have been checking out the Craft and Hobby Website and it seems there are some new manufactures of some cool products showcasing them at the convention center.  I am anxious as it seems MIXED MEDIA art (my personal favorite) is becoming all the buzz and fad right now.

Well, I am off and about...I have a busy morning.
Have a terrific weekend.

Happy Mother's Day!

My Mother's Day Weekend has been awesome!  My son who lives in Colorado sent me roses and chocolates that were delivered yesterday while I was scrapping the day away with my daughter.  I have lots of new gifts and my husband took us out for breakfast this morning and he is now doing chores around the house while I do whatever I want.  Gosh, this is AWESOME!  But I must confess, although this is Mother's Day, I do get this treatment a great deal on weekends that are not specified just for "Mom."

Today, I do reflect on my own mother and my grandmother.  They are no longer with me but they were incredible women.  Strong, independent, and creative.  They are greatly missed but more so today than other days.  I reflect upon their influences within my own life and how they helped mold me into a great mother as well.  For that, I give a big thank you to them.

So, what did I do yesterday?  Played with my May 2011 Main Kit from 3 Scrappy Boys and the Add-On Kit.  Here are just a few I created yesterday.  Keep checking back as more will be added.  Until then, Have a Wonderful Mother's Day weekend and if you are lucky enough to have a mother still in your life...you are more than blessed.  Show her.

WOW, time is flying by so quickly!

Catching up on my blog reading this morning.  I am still getting used to our schedule change around home with work and school.  Carving out time for just myself is still one of the priorities.  However, it doesn't leave much time for blogging.  For kicks and grins, here are some scrappy pages I have created recently.
It looks like rain today.  A perfect day for playing in my Art Studio.

Still here...

Yes, I am still here.  I am busy getting settled into my new position as an Legal Assistant for a law firm.  I am working about 175 cases and absorbing the routine and tasks before me.  I like the people I work with and the atmosphere is really great.

So, I thought I would leave you this Friday with another layout I created for Art Freckles  August kit.

Sometimes a simple design is all you need to tell a story.
This picture is old and was tattered and torn.
I simply scanned and made a copy.
Have a terrific weekend.

An Artful Life

Over at Art Freckles, this months kit is a delightful addition to scrappy supplies and creating.  I love the name of the kit as well as creating with it this month.  "An Artful Life" is full of cardstock and double sided papers to woo any scrapper to share a memory or two in their scrapbook.

Here is a sample of what I created with the August Kit, "An Artful Life" from Art Freckles!

This picture was taken the first day of school and I could not resist in using the papers and embellishments from this fabulous kit and alter a frame I have had for years.
