Still Here,

I am still here.  There has been a great deal going on around home.
I have gone on a scrappy retreat, made a quick trip to Georgia for a personal reason, had a wonderful Thanksgiving, decorated for Christmas, and just simply being with my family.

So, here goes...

Keeping YOU in the "Know."

Yes, I am still here.
Yes, I love my job.  I have met some great people and have made new friends.
I have not been creative lately, but today will change.
I am in my studio and plan on having some scrappy fun.
In the meantime,
Here are a few photos of what has been happening around here.

Oh yeah, stay tuned and I will announce a NEW NUMBER!

Turned 10 and making memories
This is US in a nutshell lately.  We have been very busy and making memories is a day to day wonderful journey.  Carving out time for creativity is much harder, but we are all happy.  We are all healthy (healthier) and we are all enjoying life.

GOD IS GOOD!

Grey-Vacation!

We had a fabulous vacation at Perdido Key.  We saw family, witnessed the sun rise each morning on the beach, and I fell in love with The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy!
Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey
I am currently reading and almost done with Fifty Shades Darker.
This character, Christian Grey is SOMETHING ELSE, I tell ya.

Gadget Girl, May!
The above picture is my cousin-in-law, May.  She is the GADGET GIRL!
She loves her phone and anything that connects her to the world via the Internet.

Just a few of my favorite photos.
I took all of my photos this vacation with just my phone and a little point and shoot Canon.
I did not want the bulk of my Rebel.  All in all, and 540 pictures later...
I really got some great shots.
Maybe the big cameras are over rated.
What do you think?

Using up the Scraps...

I love using scraps I have on my table to create 6" x 12" Layouts.  I love to mingle them within my scrapbooks because it adds a special dimension to my books when looking through them.  This size is perfect for the not so great shot or so many photos of one event and you want to just scrap because you simply love it.  This size challenges me to use a smaller space more creatively.

I dare not throw anything away that is on my desk.  So, one way to make sure it gets used is to continue to scrap in this fabulous size.  My table gets cleaned really fast and I use up my stash.

Rainy weekend here and tonight we are off to a concert in a cave.
Tell you all about it tomorrow!

Summer Loving...having some fun!

Wow, this summer is simply flying by and we are keeping very busy with lots of family, food, fun, and of course...soaking in some rays.  I have so much to catch everyone up with that I just believe I will start in the middle with glimpses.  I have been creating but I have not finished two paintings that I am working on.
I have not taken the time to scrap or any other mixed media...I am simply concentrating on MAKING the MEMORIES that I can document when school is back in session.
Of which, by the way, is just one month away.  WOW!
So, to at least get something on my blog here...here are some glimpses...
MamMa Bea...she wore these Coca-Cola Pants every 4th of July

I dug through an old scrapbook from 2005- (the year I began scrapbooking) and pulled out this page to display in my kitchen.  Just a reminder of wonderful Fourth of July past events that were tradition.

New Baker's Rack for kitchen with side table to match.
I find myself really in love with dark woods and metal/iron.  So, I am revamping a bit.
 I started in the kitchen.

GLEE REVIEW at W.K.U Van Meter Hall/Auditorium
Brianna was on the BIG stage for an entire week which ended with a fabulous show.  We enjoyed ourselves greatly and she has been bitten by the MUSIC THEATRE/ACTING Bug.

New Towel  Rack/Signage
So, I painted the small bathroom and made it more masculine.  Studio Gray Valspar paint and a few goodies from a local store (door knobs) and I had Brian put them on stained wood to be used for towel hanging.
I decided I liked the silver/nickel color of the screws he used as the other colors in the bathroom are nickel and silver.  It looks great!
Hand Towel Rack
I had Brian do the same thing for the towel rack in the bathroom.  I like that the board is complementary to the other fixtures in the bathroom and it helps keep moisture from the towel away from the wall.

Emily and Zachary
Well....what can I say?  Zachary has found him a new girlfriend.  She is from Texas and moved to Kentucky recently.  They seem to be getting along great.

Stephen and Katie at the water park

Stephen and Katie on the Fourth of July
Stephen and Katie came up from Atlanta for the week of the Fourth of July.  We crammed lots of celebration in just 3 days and we really had a great time.  Nothing like visiting "the parents" while it is 105 degrees and 95% humidity.  Still, we had a great time.

Now, the NEW NUMBER!
STILL LOSING!

Mother's Day Weekend

I no longer have a mother or grandmother to spoil on Mother's Day, but this year...
I was spoiled all weekend long.
To begin with,
Brian took me out to eat Friday night at a new place in town call ON THE BONE Chop House!
We had a wonderful appetizer with cocktails followed by pork and steak.  I had the ribeye and it was simply wonderful.  The potato was amazing.  It was light and airy and had a very delicate taste.  The steak was cooked perfectly and very tender.    I really enjoyed the homemade dressing as well with my very fresh  salad.  Portions are generous and we were more than satisfied.
Yepper, we took home left overs, too!

View from the patio dining area.

Grilled Prawns and a homemade garlic cream cheese butter.  TO DIE FOR!

We will be back for sure.  The patio dining area was very nice and the evening was perfect and very little humidity which made the evening a little crisp and reminded us that summer is just around the corner.
Our server, "Cat" was delightful young lady and treated us as royalty.  We will be back.

Saturday was time spent at the local farmer's market gathering wonderful goodies to go with our "meat" filled meals for the week.
We also groomed our yards in time for a good soaking rain
 which began overnight.

MOM (me) and my first born, Zachary!  A fabulous Mother's Day!
Zachary got off the plane carrying a dozen sterling roses that are out of this world gorgeous.
His flight arrived and we finally embraced at 11:30 PM EST on Mother's Day.

Yes, this was the most perfect MOTHER'S DAY EVER!

Picture This...

Hot, humid, roar of the crowd as a home run is hit, and in the background...barking!
Yes, we went to the Bark in the Park at the Hot Rods game at the ball park yesterday.
We had a great time.  Did I mention, HUMID?
Yes, it was!  But overall we saw so many beautiful and well mannered dogs.
Brianna and Chynna right before entering the ball park

Brian and his safari hat.  He loves his hat.

Hot and Humid.  But we were lucky to be in the shade and a breeze blowing.

Yes, she can make him speak in "baby talk."

My Brianna is really growing up!

Us

Chynna had her own seat!  She kept watching the baseball being thrown.

After the 7th Inning Stretch.  We decided to head on home.
For the record, the game started off really well with the Hot Rods and a Home Run Hit...but we were down 5 to 2 at the bottom of the 7th.  It was hot and humid and we decided to head on home.
It was a great day at the park and interesting with all of the dogs in attendance.

Just a great "family day."
