Self-Portraits...embracing the lens.

You know what happens when one loses a great deal of weight?  The camera is a new friend.  Well, at least for me anyway.  I enjoy seeing the changes on a monthly basis and I am now incorporated in my memory keeping as "part" of the story rather than just the "storyteller."  We as storytelling scrappers hardly embrace ourselves within our photography.  But for me, this is going to change.  I know this because when searching for pictures of my mother...they were few and far between.  Not many exist and it is rather sad really.  So, I plan on changing this for my family and my storytelling.  I am important, too.

Embrace the lens.  A giggle is good, too.

So, you see?  It is not selfish or egotistical to take self-portraits.
It simply makes one part of the memory and the story.  It says,  "I WAS HERE, TOO!"
They do not have to be perfect or always in focus.  They do not always have to have you looking your best.
They simply are proof that you had just as much part of the memory as everyone else that was there.
So, go ahead...SNAPSHOT yourself into the memory, too!

Happy SHOOTING!

Super Moon...

Indeed, we clearly were not in the greatest spot to truly enjoy
the moon and its wonderful glory Saturday night.  It did not look any larger than some of the magnificent harvest moons that appeared to be larger to the naked eye than what I witnessed Saturday night.
I needed a SUPER POWERED lens to really get a picture that was worth telling about.
So, this is what is the best shot out of the 10 or so I took.  This is the only one I kept.

Creativity, New Numbers, & Men of Numbers

This is what I did.  I enjoyed a crop that was sponsored by Studio Calico
I loved meeting women within the Bowling Green area
and the ladies from April and Lorie's church were simply delightful.
I came home with some great scrapbook pages and
lots of fabulous goodies from Studio Calico.
Lorie and I had a great time scrapping together and she was a fabulous hostess!
I will be doing this again next year.
Thanks for the invite!

Nashville bound and down...

That is where I was today.  I went in to work and then headed to my surgeons office at Vanderbilt Health.  I took a few photos along the way.  You know the kind I am talking about.
When you are driving 78 M.P.H and roll down your window
and just point and shoot.  Love the little Nikon.  I was always a loyal Cannon user.
Especially with point and shoot type cameras but this little gem is nifty indeed.
Yep, that is what I did.
South bound I-65 and Nashville, TN.

Then I ended up at Vanderbilt Health.  Where I received great news on my weight-loss.
It really just gets me pumped and ready for ZUMBA tomorrow night!

So, for my "Photo A Day" picture I chose Vanderbilt.

I got home around 5:20 P.M. and was surprised how well the traffic moved going through downtown.
I guess I am still tainted scarred from years in Atlanta traffic.  But oh the memories of slow lanes at rush hour.  Yes, they can be found in Nashville, too.

Pieces...

You know that spot at work where there are just "pieces" of your outside world?
Well, I took my photo of the day at my office in that exact spot.
It's just an area where I go back to my creative self throughout the day.

So, amongst brief writings, record reading, and speaking
with clients intermittently throughout the day, I glimpse.

Thank the LORD IT IS FRIDAY!

ART ROOM TIME!

Today, I am staying home.  I plan on creating.  I have a creative itch I need to scratch.  But I thought I would just post a few photos to show what I have been up to lately with my family!

Just a day with the FAMILY!

Good Food, Great Company, & Music.

Stuffed from dinner at Montana Grill,
Robin and I headed to Fountain Square Friday night
for the last concert in the park for the summer.
People everywhere and sounds of laughter filled the hot humid evening.
It was a delightful evening and I enjoyed catching up with her happenings.
I seriously need a longer arm when taking self photos.
All in all, a wonderful evening and I simply must do better about getting together with my friend.

Thank you Robin for a wonderful Birthday Gift.

Just a few things today...

Of course, my list does not include the usual duties and chores that go with being a stay at home mom.
But this will be changing in one week.
All duties will be shared.
I am getting excited about me new job.
I think it will be exciting working for a lawyer.
We are planning some family activities this weekend.
But tonight, GIRL'S NIGHT OUT with my friend.
Celebrating my belated birthday.
I hope to get some really great photos.
Have a terrific weekend.
